The article presents the author’s thoughts regarding evidence-based dentistry (EBD). The difficulties in adapting evidence-based practices to the field of dentistry are discussed, noting that dental treatment outcomes may not be noticeable for years and are significantly influenced by factors including the competency of the dentist, the quality of the recall that the dentist offers, and the compliance of the dental patient.
